Always a heart-breaker

Sat Dec 12, 2009, 11:25 AM
When I'm asked by a model to remove photos from my gallery, Most are totally understandable. Like just today, I get a email from Jee, who's attending a university in Korea, that I remove any photos of her that is showing a bit more skin than the culture is used to, TOTALLY understandable, I dont' like it, but I have to comply. So I have to remove 4 photos, and in the process I realised I forgot to add others, that weren't so reveling. So, in short, "Darn it! but okay.." I have totally respect for those I work with.
I will admit though, the requests to remove photos cause of a boyfriend.. not so cool.. (see previous journal) family, school, job I'm down with that.. I'll just keep them in my own personal portfolio. and good memories.
Thank you to all that I've worked with so far, I hope to continue this, really soon, please, soon would be nice, not later, soon...

A general question for Models?

Mon Nov 23, 2009, 9:48 AM
I'll start in my defense:
I have certain rules on a photo shoot that are simple - No Drama, No Drugs, and No Dip-shits, a few that have shot with me have heard them, pretty easy for most, but difficult for some.
One last rule that I also have, which leads to this journal, No Boyfriends. You can bring any kind of escort you please, family, close friends, girlfriends, husbands, and wives I don't care so long is it isn't a boyfriend. Why you say a boyfriend, cause boyfriends are usually new, and don't know the model that well, not well enough to make them comfortable, not well enough to know what is to be conveyed in the photos, and normally when a relationship starts the real you hasn't yet surfaced, so when shooting that's what I want, the real you.
So the question, Do you think it's fair I say "No Boyfriends."? if so what's your thoughts? One person says that a boyfriend is nothing more than a step from husbandry and that my opinion on it is petty and immature.(well I cleaned that response up)and that a marriage is archaic and trivial. so needless to say I'm not shooting with her.
Oh what set this off was, the guy she was seeing, not really a boyfriend, said I couldn't keep the photos after I was done, which set up a red flag. I responded to that with a "hell no" and that set the mood between us. I know she said that was ridiculous that I couldn't keep the photos. but she went on to be snippy and slanderous towards me. lol, some of the things she said about me were just crazy.

Well thank you for taking the time to read this, hope I can get some good responses, positive or negative, I don't mind being wrong, but I do mind being made fun of when I'd rather not be mean.

Question for Multi-medium Artists

Mon Aug 31, 2009, 2:59 PM
I've done a wide range of art, (Photography, painting, airbrushing, carving.) some stuff never seen. Now I've been inspired by Min {and no I've never officially photographed her, but she's been a big portion of the last year} So I asked her to do some poses for me and send them to me (which you will never see :P )
So what am I asking, I plan a new project, something I've never done before, which for some reason seems like everything I do, this is a Portrait/sculpture. Do you think I'm taking on too big of a task trying this, or should I do this now that the whole thing is planned out in my head?
So I should jjust dive in and see what comes out. I swear this will pull on EVERY skill I have ever attempted - carving, painting, planning, wire work, soldering, sculpting(new), portrait(new), airbrushing, real airbrush fire... and whatever else comes up. All for 1 portrait. and if I do accomplish this task, I have no idea if I'll ever do it again, cause if there was a price to put on it at least in the thousands.
Thank you for your time
Kevin

Art: is perceived by the individual eye.

Tue Aug 25, 2009, 8:05 AM
For my gallery contains just over 800 photos of paintings, people, and scenes. I have my personal favorites, others have theirs. Some I painstakingly took the extra effort in producing them, others took no effort at all, almost point and shoot. a trend on DeviantArt: In my top 30 most popular photos - 1 prose, rest people - 10 with Tiff, 9 with Melanie, 6 with me, 5 with Jamie, 5 couples with me, 2 with Kell, 2 photo manips, 1 Shasta, 1 Kel'.
What am I getting at here you ask = it seems the least amount of effort I put into a photo, the more popular it is, BUT the downside, I have to do alot to get to that one, I can take up to 400 photos in one session or as less as 40, posting anywhere from 1 to 15 from that series, and nothing guerentees the public will like it or love just one out of all that. So who really cares... it's a hobby of mine, and lately all I can do is think about doing art, but can't.
Like my quote up top, "Just living a hiccup" I have my ups and downs, right now, I'm in that stage of deep breath. I hate waiting, I'm like alot of people and want it now, but others tell me wait, One specific person, makes me smile, everytime, but must wait. (And I've never posted a photo of her on here)
